This past Friday, July 24th was our very first teen movie night fundraiser. We only had about a week and a half to prepare and promote, but I know God strategically placed just the right people there, regardless of my own hopes or expectations… and the night was amazing! It occurred to me many times that night that I had not once felt an emptiness, loneliness, or a lack of love that we often seem to feel. Witnessing so many people that call me their friend, helping, serving, sacrificing their time and money that night for me and my vision for this ministry had filled me up so much that I was absolutely overwhelmed with emotion on my drive home. And what took my breath away was not only spending quality time with these young men and women, but hearing the words “I love you Miss Mary” from one of the most amazing, pure-hearted boys I have ever met. I am continuously amazed at these teens that God has entrusted me with, and I often laugh at the thought of the funny faces they would give me if I turned soft on them and told them how much they filled my life and brought joy to my heart. I guess for now I’ll just stick with the idea of just being there for them, loving them the only way I know how, and trying not to strangle them when they switch the signs on the bathroom doors, wrestle on the front lawn or try to lock me in the mens room!! LOL… Gosh I love them all!
