A friend of mine text me this a few days ago:

Psalm 32:8 “The Lord says, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. i will advise you and watch over you.” In the Message bible it says: “…I’m looking you in the eye and giving it to you straight. 9 Don’t be ornery like a horse or mule that needs bit and bridle to stay on track.” The NCV translation says: “The Lord says, ‘I will make you wise and show you where to go. I will guide you and watch over you. ‘”

Funny how the enemy works, isn’t it? Tempting Jesus in the dessert at the end of His fast… just when the temptation of the flesh has been overcome and we thought we could rest! There are many days that I question the future, that I really wonder how this will all really work itself out. I often say to myself, “is it really God’s voice I’m hearing? Am I really listening?”

I will tell you that I felt the enemy’s attack very strong the day after my 21 day Daniel fast ended. I will not go into details, but it really shook me up. The same thing happened to me when I was very young and I have always feared that moment reoccurring in my life. Well, at that very moment… though I was in a serious spiritual battle with the enemy… all that I kept thinking is that Jesus must be with me because of the calmness in my spirit, the fearlessness in my heart, and the boldness of my actions. Though a part of me wants to fear the enemy during these moments, that morning, God proved to me that He has created me to be a warrior for His kingdom! He showed me that I have EVERYTHING that I will ever need, including His mighty presence, to fight any wars that I need to fight! I felt the fierce boldness well up in my spirit crying out “Satan you have NO authority over me in Jesus’ MIGHTY name!!” The more I prayed and read Psalm 91, the more my voice shook with anger… the louder I spoke the smaller the fear became… until it existed no more.

I am here to say, kids, as a living testimony, that the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit is very much inside of us at EVERY moment!! He is there to make us strong when we are weak! To make us step out in faith when our bodies are trembling! I am VERY well aware that my attacks from the enemy will continue to present themselves in various forms and fashions. I am ALSO here to speak out the fearlessness of my spirit to all of you and declare my stand in this war. I, Mary Pennington, am not only making a declaration of my unconditional commitment and love for our Lord and our Savior, but am making a commitment to YOU, the reader, the youth, the parent, the citizens of this fallen world. I will NOT give up this fight no matter how battered and beaten my body or my spirit. I have been given a new life, a fresh spirit and a renewed BOLDNESS in the name of Jesus… and the path I walk for Him is shining bright and clear before me.

I will say that I don’t know what will happen, I have no idea how I will pay my bills from month to month, I am left completely stripped of my earthly comforts and dependencies… you know, things like a steady job and secure paycheck… just to walk out this calling. I have nothing to lose that truly matter, not even my life since I am promised an eternal one… so I say BRING IT ON SATAN! BRING IT ON!
